Building Boost for Mary Queen of Heaven Primary School

23 April, 2026

Every child, no matter their postcode has the right to a world-class education at a Victorian school.

That’s why the Allan Labor Government is upgrading dozens of low-fee Catholic schools.

Deputy Premier and Minister for Education Ben Carroll and Member for Greenvale Iwan Walters today attended the official opening of Mary Queen of Heaven Catholic Primary School’s new $9 million learning centre.

Labor contributed $5 million to the project, with the school providing $4 million.

The new centre includes new learning and gathering areas, fostering growth and community.

Students can learn in 12 new learning areas, two new gathering spaces and two new specialist learning areas.

Local children can play in a brand-new half oval play space, with new-look landscaping and grounds development.

The new learning centre is part of the opening of Stage 2 of the school, which welcomed its first students in 2023.

Labor also contributed $4 million for Stage 1 of the school’s construction.

This comes as Labor has invested nearly $1 billion to upgrade Catholic and independent schools.
