Labor Delivers More Inclusive Kinders

Labor is transforming kinders so every child can play, learn and belong. 

Minister Blandthorn today announced more than $4.5 million to help kinders upgrade buildings, playgrounds and buy equipment so every child can fully participate.

Building upgrades

Grants of up to $200,000 will help 29 services upgrade their facilities.

Attwood Childcare Centre and Kindergarten will use its grant to build accessible pathways and purchase new musical equipment and play features.

Goodstart Early Learning Mount Clear will use its grant to build a new sandpit, a ramp from the verandah, a cubby, raised garden beds and shade sails - creating a safer space for kids to explore and learn together.

Equipment grants

Sixty services will receive up to $10,000 each to buy accessible equipment like adjustable furniture, mobility stools and sensory resources.

KU Alexander Magit Kindergarten in Ferntree Gully will use its grant to purchase resources such as sensory balance beams, an activity cube and water play equipment - helping more children build agility and coordination.

Labor has delivered more than $27.2 million in Building Blocks Inclusion grants, supporting 205 kinder building and playground projects across Victoria.

Since Free Kinder started in 2023, the Labor Government has picked up the bill for Victorian families and saved them about $980 million in education fees.

This year, they’ll save another $350 million.

The Liberals have no plan for early education - just cuts, like the $1 billion they cut from education when they were last in office.
